Mental Performance Coach — Climbing Canada Para-Climbing Team.

Laura Peronace, PhD

Led by Laura Peronace, PhD, Peronace Performance sits at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and elite performance. As the Mental Performance Coach for the Climbing Canada Para-Climbing Team, Dr. Peronace integrates evidence-based psychological strategies to help athletes thrive.

Her mental training supports both the well-being and competitive performance of para climbers. She helps athletes manage pressure, regulate emotions, build confidence, and develop habits that enhance focus, resilience, and consistency under stress.

Deeply engaged in the para-climbing community, Laura has several years of experience at the competitive level. She first gained experience on the international circuit as a blind climber caller. From her past tenure as a Central Rock Gym Adaptive co-lead and since as a coach, her work has supported athletes from local competitions through to Para Climbing Nationals, World Cup, and World Championships medals.

Recently, she instigated and co-led the first Canadian Para-Climbing training camp. She has provided preparatory and on-site psychological support with actionable, competition-ready mental strategies for climbing and other disciplines, driving breakthroughs that have led to broken records.

She has supported athletes by providing on-site mental skills coaching and competition preparation to strengthen adaptability and readiness.

Whether it is a world-class paraclimber navigating a complex sequence or another professional athlete facing a career-defining moment, Laura's expertise helps them master their internal environment so they can conquer their external one.
